![]() One of them even grabbed my hand with his beak. My kids named them Pecky McPeckersons because if you didn't get them food fast enough they didn't hesitate to reach in themselves. They are for the most part very gentle and tolerant, albeit little pushy. They are not shy and they begin to surround your car the minute you hit the road. We were among the first there and the critters were all ready to eat. It was the perfect way to spend an otherwise dreary Saturday morning. The kids had a great time on this adventure. Needless to say a great place to bring the kiddos. Except for the Water Buffalo who were too lazy to get out of their mud pit and say hello. Expect sloppy tongue kisses on your doors but the critters are for the most part very polite. Reservations are a must and you need to book far ahead as their calendar fills up fast. Of course all the stopping eats up the clock pretty fast. ![]() Your ticket allows for an hour but you can circle back as many times as you want. ![]() Petting is required as is picture taking. Camels, Emus, Zebras, Bison, Llamas, and more wait patiently for their turn at your bucket. You never leave your car as the animals wait dutifully along the road, looking for a handout. Then you drive in a slow moving procession on a lumpy gravel road. Get at least two buckets, you'll need it. In fact if you're not careful they might try to climb into the car. Much better than a zoo because you get to feed the critters. Just over the border on the outskirts of Lake Geneva, this smallish sanctuary is a delight. If you love herbivores, and who doesn't, this is your place. They had nothing to do with you once they saw the bowl was empty! □ They know what they’re looking for and we didn’t have it. We bought 4 bowls got 2 empty bowls to have enough for each side of the car still ran out by the time we got to the camels. I’d ask for an empty bowl to start with so you don’t lose all the feed on the first animal. The price they sell the bowls of feed for are a bit high. It was an off an on rainy day which I thought it would keep the animals away. We spent another 30 minutes or so in the small petting area. It took us about 45 mins to go through it ,one stopping and feeding or waiting on animals to move. He laughed at grandpa as he was feeding the ostrich because they were going to town and getting grandpa! Your car will have feed all over the floor and seats but it cleans up easily. ![]() It was worth it for us to watch him! He loved helping to feed the animals with grandpa and grandma. This safari zoo is not very big which is a plus for small kids! We took our 2 yr old grandson and he loved it. I have recommended this place to many of my friends so far and hope to take my boys back another time! At one point the camel was chasing the llamas around and it was quite entertaining to watch! We went when it was misty and muddy and the roadway was very bumpy, so they tell you to go slow. I liked the variety of animals and loved watching them interact with each other. The animals like to stand in the roadway and not move for like 10 minutes! LOL! So leave yourself plenty of time to go through! Each time we went through it was a totally different experience because the animals are free to roam and they do. We were able to go through 3 times and that took about 2 hours. We paid the regular price to go through on our own plus got two feed buckets and it cost me $53. The woman did warn us about those pesky animals. He absolutely loved this! Until an ostrich got his finger! He's fine though. My 7 year old has a broken leg, so his activities are very limited.
